- SDstacy danielsJul 21, 20251.0I bought a pre-owned boat from Apopka marine. It had 214 hours on boat. It looked immaculate. After only putting 99 hours on boat, it began a squeaking sound from engine. Still worked in every aspect of operation... shut it down IMMEDIATELY. (As to not damage anything further). Took it to dealership and was told by serv mngr, sounds like bushing. Later called me and said "you need a whole new lower unit". Almost 5k later, I pick up boat. Take home to examine my used unit.... upper plastic bushing seal was damaged. They broke the upper shaft bearing housing during inspection. Lower gears and clutches appeared BRAND NEW!!! O-ring seals in lower were in perfect condition. " PAINT HASNT EVEN WORE OFF LOWER UNIT. 314 hours total on old unit. (But was told by Greg " YOU JUST NEED A NEW LOWER UNIT BUD!!") Will NEVER DO BUSINESS HERE AGAIN!!! Will warn everyone i meet and know of my experience!!!! EXTREMELY BAD BUSINESS IN MY OPINION!!!!!!
