I tried to start my car the other morning but the battery was completely dead. So we tried to return it, and the guy said he needed to hook it up to there tester and see what it said first. It came up "inconclusive". We had already explained what had happened, first he mentioned the date and how old it was (even though they were the ones that had just sold us this battery recently) and told us that store policy said that he has to recharge the battery and retest it, which could take up to 6 hours, but couldn't guarantee that we would be able to exchange it. Well, needless to say, we took the battery back, left, and will not be returning to Advance Auto Parts again.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
