- LWLA WHITEJun 17, 20255.0I didn't catch their names but the best couple of guys working at advance Auto parts today June 17th at 7:00 at night I called ahead of time told them I'd be pulling up out front they met me outside tested my battery was low at 580 cold cranking amps and was still under warranty I didn't even have to go in the store they replaced my battery without any issues and I was on my way thanks guys I spend quite a bit of money on parts and I'll be buying from this location thanks again

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
