Tonight my car wouldn’t start after work so I got a jump and headed straight to Advance, so glad they are open later in the evening. Alex fixed me up with a new battery and now I’m heading home. Your staff is friendly, polite, always smiling and greeting every customer that comes through those front doors every single time that i am at your location purchasing wipers, batteries etc. but most of all this morning I was having issues with my vehicle battery and staff member Paul was there to assist me with the testing of my current battery and he was exceptionally such a wonderful person with one of the best attitudes and provided me with over the top services by testing my battery status to assure me that it was working in great condition and did not need to be replace at this time provided with a sense of security that i would not be broken down somewhere in a unsafe location or other areas and he took the time to make that very clear to me and he left me in good hands when leaving your store. Paul is a great asset to Advanced Auto Parts and should be rewarded by recognition and deserves a pay raise for his dedication and services that he provides each and every customer that he encounters that comes thru your location that each treats them all the same.

Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.
What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
