Simply too good to be true. Simply zoom in My wife and I were in Miami for a single day as we had a cruise leaving from there. I generally avoid getting rental cars as I Personally like to dodge the possibly of having a rental agency try to ping damage I didn't do upon me. However we decided last minute to get a car and went with sixt. I must say the easiest process I've ever experienced when it comes to getting a rental car, no haggling etc. We used the car, dropped it off the next day and all was good. 6 days into our vacation I received and email from sixt stating I owed them over $1000 in damages done to their vehicle. I myself, have a good bit of OCD and also own a car detailing business, I know a thing or two about vehicle paint work and spotting scratches. At the time of vehicle pickup I recorded a 5 minute video as well as took photos of literally every scratch, dent, and paintwork blemish you could ever hope to find.. what makes this the most pathetic is in their " damage claim " email, they provided me with an " at time of pickup photo" as well as a " at time of drop off photo", a photo of the same shot of the car, only the drop off photo had a scratch circled. If you simply zoom in on each photo provided, you can find the same scratch in both photos. They literally sent the same picture with the same scratch but claimed it was new somehow.  A simple zoom in on both of their photos was all that was needed. Shady company, don't get scammed, absolutely will not rent with sixt again.

Imagine flying across the Atlantic for 3 day business conference. You pickup your rental car from the airport and drive to your venue where you put $10 on a parking meter. An hour later your car is gone. It got towed because the meter had a glitch. You thought you were choosing a premium rental car service by choosing SIXT. You call them to report the towed vehicle and all they can say is they need up to 7 days to recover your vehicle and during that time you will pay for their service and pay the impound daily. Your business trip is ruined. The police say that rental car companies can fax a release to the impound but SIXT refuses. Now picture flying back home not knowing when your rental car will be collected. Your rental insurance does not cover illegal tows or delayed recovery so you are completely out of luck and writing a blank check every day. Why on earth would you want to rent from a company that puts you in this situation?

I paid extra to upgrade to a BMW through Sixt, and honestly it was a huge disappointment. The car was dirty on pickup — the steering wheel was grimy, the passenger footwell plastic was filthy, and on top of that the car smelled like smoke. Absolutely unacceptable for a “premium” rental that I paid extra for. This isn’t the first time Sixt has let me down, but it will definitely be the last time I rent with them. If you’re paying for an upgraded vehicle, you should at least get one that’s clean and doesn’t smell like someone chain-smoked in it. To top it off, when I contacted Sixt, they offered mere $75 off, then I didn’t even receive that. When I tried to contact them and resolve it “Brandon” was 0 help.

We rented an SUV for a weekend road trip from FLL to GA. At the ticket counter, we were pressured into upgrading our vehicle after telling the customer service agent that it was our anniversary weekend. We agreed to upgrading from a Mazda SUV to a BMW X3. On our way up to Georgia along 95, we realized that this BMW will not link to our mobile devices, and the air-conditioning display is faulty and does not allow us to see what temperature the interior car is or what the fans speed are. For the entire 7 Hour drive up and back to GA, we had to use our mobile devices for music and for navigation. We sent an email to customer service within an hour of hour of our pick up, received an Automatic reply email that it was received however no one has contacted us all weekend. We spent hundreds of dollars extra for this “upgrade” and do not feel it is worth it and no one seems to want to rectify this issue with their poor quality “premium” vehicle. Definitely affected our anniversary road trip for sure in a terrible way.

First time renting from Sixt. Signed up online and prepaid. Had to check in at the desk. My experience with the desk assistant, Dixa, was above and beyond. Far better vehicle fleet than Hertz and substantially less expensive than the other vehicle rental agencies when I was comparing. I had extended my trip by a day and had to bring my hertz rental back to FLL or be charged an extra $238 (for one day!) for a Kia Niro for which I was already overcharged $100/day. Found someone else’s hertz ticket in the car from their rental from 2 days prior and they were charged $51/day for the same vehicle. There were plenty of available rentals when I returned the car, despite the site showing that they were sold out. I was given a BMW X5, brand new-ish, for 1/3 less than the original Hertz daily rate. Sixt will likely be my go-to at FLL from now on. Their fleet looked brand new.
