  Getting the vehicle was much easier when pre booked. Attendant on the way out was very rude. We were instructed in our conformation email to show our barcode. As I attempted to show her, twice, (first time for us with this process), she told me, WILL YOU STOP SHOWING ME THIS! and then starting mumbling about something political, and having to do this with no check-in workers, I couldn’t understand what she was saying. Not the way you treat customers. Car ran fine, the tire air pressure was all over the place, one tire was 39, and one was as low as 23 in another 🤷‍♀️ Do they not check these cars and the safety issues before the go back out.

  I ordered a full size car and the selection was a bit modest. After looking over the vehicles I opted for a Mazda, which I didn’t realize, being tired from traveling, was a mid-sized parked in the full size row The vehicle was awful. Seats extremely uncomfortable, CarPlay mapping intermittent, seats manual, etc. ended up driving back to the airport a few days later and exchanged for a full size. To Alamo’s credit they did not charge me for the full size. Calling to find out about exchanging was very easy and helpful and all the employees were extremely cordial.

  I have reserved cars from Alamo religiously since the Hertz family (HERTZ, DOLLAR, THRIFY) tried to defraud me out of $347 3 years ago out of both Tampa (HERTZ) and Orlando (THRIFTY) Airports. As an Alamo member, I appreciate how easy it is to find/reserve an economical car, how easy it is to cancel or modify or get a new reservation. Walk-up selection of available vehicles is extremely easy, if a specific reserved car (hybrid) isn't available (Boston Logan) - the sales staff will make it right. I used to rent cars from Alamo in California years ago, I cannot explain why I ever subjected myself to HERTZ, DOLLAR, THRIFY. I will never let that happen again.   I recently rented a sports car from Alamo for a week, and while there were some positives, the overall experience was just average. The rental cost over $1,000 for the week, and for that price, I expected the vehicle to be in much better condition. The car had nearly 60,000 miles on it, the transmission made noticeable noises when starting up, and there were quite a few scratches and small dents on the exterior. For what I paid, it definitely did not feel worth it. This is actually the second time I’ve rented from Alamo and received a vehicle that was in less-than-ideal condition, which is disappointing. On the positive side, the staff members were very helpful and professional. The fast check-in process was excellent and made pickup quick and easy. The after-hours drop-off was also very convenient, especially since there was an employee present to check cars in. Overall, the customer service and convenience were great, but the condition of the vehicle—especially at that price point—needs improvement.

  February 4th I reserved a Jeep at Alamo rental at the Fort Lauderdale airport for 1 week was looking for something shorter to drive and park more easily it was a nice vehicle to get repaid And did the setup ahead of time so all I had to do was go and find the Jeep And off we went as we approached the area a great gentleman perfect for helping people made us laugh and was right on top of things radioed to find out if the jeeps were ready this one is actually being washed we only had to wait probably less than 2 minutes we got it and my wife and I were on our way Soon after when we arrived at our hotel I discovered that the key fob lock and unlock Buttons weren't working when I pushed either one the alarm went off screaming so I decided to just use the key to open it and the buttons on the doors to automatically lock it I emailed Alamo about this to find out if there was a way to reset it but they said I'd probably have to bring it in and they give us a new vehicle I chose not to do that because I didn't want to waste an hour or so of our time and it wasn't that terribly important When we brought it back I was greeted by a man named Gus And explain what was happening with the key fob wanted him to let him know so they wouldn't send it out to the next person and they would have the same troubles I did He apologize for the situation which was nice but it wasn't his fault it was the vehicle's fault he was very helpful and understanding and after we got done talking he decided to reduce my rental fee for the inconvenience which was very nice and I was rather surprised by that knowing the corporate world It was a pleasure talking and communicating with Gus he definitely has a job daddy understands and does extremely well I've been around for a lot of years and I don't give out a lot of reviews and such but I do wanna give a big shout out to Gus So when hopefully management reads this the understand the value of what these people do and how valuable that is to their business and people like me I own a business in Minnesota so I also know how things can go good and bad at anytime and a person's ability to handle these situations Is important so thank you again Gus and Alamo we will be back to Florida again next year and I'm sure we will do business with you again.
