  Smoothest car rental process yet. After Right Car Rentals screwed us over we left and came here. Skip the line as a cure suggested to check in online, and we got to choose whichever car we wanted in our class. I chose my make model and color, keys on the dash, and drove off. They checked us in on the way out, and it was very fast. Just make sure you have your drivers license and credit card physically on hand and that it matches the name on the registration Returning was even smoother, very kind people.

  My most recent experience renting from Alamo at the Ft Lauderdale Airport RCC fell far below expectations and was not a pleasant experience. First, I (and others in line at Alamo desk) attempted to use the posted QR code for the "Skip the Line" online link. It would not function for any of us in line. So, there my family and I waited for over thirty minutes as there was only one representative at the counter/desk. Then, there was a defect in the system that the representative had to overcome in order to confirm my information even though I had the print out of my confirmation and receipt of payment. Then upon getting that squared away, we had to wait for another half hour for our vehicle to arrive. The vehicle was to our specifications, so that was spot on, at least. However, throughout our journey, one of the seatbelt sensors continued to malfunction and give an alarm even though the seatbelt was fastened and secure. It was a very annoying road trip to say the least. The evening before returning our vehicle to the FLL RCC, I filled up at a local gas station. The next morning, we traveled the fifteen minutes (ten miles)to the airport RCC and upon returning the vehicle was informed that I was going to be charged for gas even though the gauge read F for Full and was the same mileage range as when we received the vehicle. When I questioned this charge, I was told that they have a sensor for the gas and go off of that. I had rented through Alamo many years ago while in Hawaii and it was a seamless and pleasant experience. So, I am hoping and guessing this is an isolated incident. That being said, it was a poor experience none the less.

  arer version: I booked a car with Alamo months in advance for pickup on 12/22/25 (Christmas week) at their Sunny Isles Beach location and had a valid confirmation and contract number. When we arrived, we were told there were no cars available, with no assistance or alternatives offered. The only response after escalation was to cancel the reservation and issue a refund, which left us without transportation during a very busy week. We were forced to book a last-minute rental through Enterprise (an Alamo affiliate) for $470. I am requesting a refund/compensation from Alamo for failing to honor their confirmed reservation and contract

  I had a very positive experience with Alamo Car Rental at Fort Lauderdale Airport, especially thanks to their excellent roadside assistance. The pickup process at FLL was smooth and efficient, and the vehicle was clean and in great condition. Unfortunately, during my trip I experienced a flat tire, which can easily derail travel plans—but Alamo handled it exceptionally well. Their roadside assistance was prompt, professional, and reassuring. After placing the call, help arrived quickly, and the technician handled the tire change efficiently and safely. They clearly explained what they were doing and got me back on the road with minimal delay. In a stressful situation, their responsiveness made a huge difference. Also, the customer representative, Jay, was very professional and courteous and made the drop-off process a breeze. It’s reassuring to know that Alamo stands behind their rentals with reliable support when unexpected issues arise. Based on this experience, I would confidently rent from Alamo again at Fort Lauderdale and recommend them to travelers who value dependable service and peace of mind.

  The airport at Ft. Lauderdale had only 2 employee working the counter. As the line grew a person appeared and told me to use the self check. I definitely prefer to deal with a person should questions arise but obviously had no choice. After I self checked I self directed myself to the car pickup area. A man there pointed to a parked car across the lot and said “that is yours”. So I self directed myself across the lot to my assigned SUV. It had obviously just been washed. I drove away in a car that had windows that were so spotted I could barely see out. To make matters worse there was no water in the windshield washer. The back of the vehicle had been vacuumed but the back of the back seats was covered in dog hair. I used only the back seat area for my bags since the cargo area cleanliness was questionable. I’ve always considered Alamo as my go-to for car rental but now will reconsider.
