    Not the place to do repairs outside of the insurance they quadruple the price of what it should be to take advantage of insurance companies. $3,600 and supposedly 10 hours of paint work for this small repair. Absolutely ridiculous

    I brought a car here after an accident with a ~$4,000 damage estimate. The final bill more than doubled after their inspection — on a car worth $12,000. While the insurance covered it, that kind of increase should raise eyebrows. Timeline estimated at 2 weeks. Actual time: 1.5 months. The final week was a string of broken delivery promises, day after day. When the car was finally returned, they admitted they had ordered the wrong part — a mistake entirely on their end — yet they refused to take any responsibility for the extended rental car costs that resulted from their error. Four days after picking up the car, a serious mechanical issue developed that left the vehicle undrivable. The damage was to the front of the car, meaning the front end — including the cooling fan — was fully disassembled and reassembled by their team. This component had zero issues before the accident or before bringing it here. Rather than owning the mistake, they deflected entirely and told me the insurance company should handle it. This is not how a professional shop operates. If you take a car apart and something fails days after you put it back together, that is on you. Avoiding accountability at every turn — the inflated bill, the wrong part, the rental, and now a non-drivable car — tells you everything about how this shop treats customers once they have your vehicle. Avoid if you can.

    I want to start by saying we had a positive first experience with Gerber Collision in Estero, which is why I encouraged our son to have his car towed out of range (which he had to pay a fee for) to their location when his tire disconnected on the highway. From day one, he asked for a timeline. They danced around it and couldn’t give him even an estimate. (I’ve seen the update texts, vague without a timeline) I let our son borrow my car thinking if wouldn’t be too long to repair; after a week I needed my car back and we had to get him a rental car. Our son called in between their T/Th text updates trying to understand when he could expect his car back, and somehow conveniently the person who could answer was never there. How is this an acceptable way to run a business? People have to worry about getting to and from work! The cost transparency was also an issue, it changed often and even after the Manager removed ‘extra charges’ after complaining it was finally back down to what our son was originally quoted. I have worked in customer service my entire life, and this would be unacceptable in any industry. Three weeks and one day is what we had to wait for our son to have his car back, with terrible communication; unacceptable. We will never do business here again, regardless of the convenient location.

    Between an over priced repair estimate and being told my parts are onack order with no ETA AND no other option but to wait for who knows how long. I decided to remove my car from this shop and get a second opinion. 3k less and only taking about 3 weeks, my car is just about ready for pick up. I will never do business with Gerber Collision. I am giving 3 stars because they are responsive and friendly.

    I have never experienced dealing with a claim before, not in a home, or a vehicle. But if I were to encounter this issue again, I would drive up to Gerber Collision and Glass in Estero without hesitation. I didn’t have to think of a thing. Everything was robotic and everyone kept me up-to-date along the way,. I did business with Brenna Franco, who was extraordinary! If I had a business of my own, I would sweep her off her feet.
