Super knowledgeable and accommodating staff. This was our first time ever renting/riding jet skis. They do an orientation for all riders to ensure you are comfortable with the equipment, answer all of your questions then send a guide out with you on the water. Great experience with Makin Waves!

Rented jetskis this past week and had the best time. Brandon and all the guys at Makin Waves were quick to answer any questions we had, provided clear guidance on where we could and could not go and how to use the jetski. Would absolutely recommend renting from this crew, they really want to ensure you enjoy your time while staying safe. We laid out at Shepherds Beach and they were also working their asses off to help adjust chairs/umbrellas as needed.

Will never go here again lived here for 14 years and have jet skied many of times by far the worst OVER PRICED, worst hospitality they are rude they act like they don’t want to do the job are very short with you, OH and they BABY sit you on the water! And PSA if you have absolutely only ONE drink you are no longer able to ride so money wasted. (Even tho they sit 10 feet from a full bar)

We rented jet skis and were riding normally when seawater suddenly got into my eyes, making it very difficult to see. When I opened my eyes, I realized we were very close to large boats, and the waves were extremely strong. I became very scared because neither I nor the passenger with me could properly control the jet ski due to the rough water. I called loudly to the staff for help, explaining that I could not control the jet ski and needed assistance to move away from the boats. Instead of helping us, they stopped directly in front of us with their jet ski and started explaining rules, saying we were not allowed to be near the large boats. I repeatedly told them that we reached that area by mistake and asked them to help us move away because the waves were pushing us. They ignored us and told me not to press the gas. I stopped pressing the gas, but the strong waves kept pushing us around uncontrollably. Because they were blocking our way, the waves pushed us into their jet ski. They should have moved away or helped us, but they did neither. They then told us to return to shore and ended our ride, claiming that we had hit their jet ski and gone too close to the boats, giving us penalty points. Additionally, when our brother came to check on us after seeing the situation, they told him he would have to pay $20 to continue riding, even though he was not involved. This situation was very unsafe, unprofessional, and unfair. We asked for help in a dangerous moment and received none. Although at the beginning I felt comfortable with them and felt safe, in this situation they truly disappointed me.🤧

My husband and I did a 2 hour jet ski dolphin tour for my birthday. This was described as "Two-hour guided jet ski tour exploring intracoastal islands with swimming, shelling, and possible dolphin sightings." Overall, this was my first time riding a jet ski and it was so much fun. But there were a few letdowns that would make me go somewhere else next time. Pros- We saw so many dolphins close up and the weather was beautiful! There was enough time to gain confidence and experience with the jet ski to feel comfortable and have fun. Cons- There was not much guidance and no touring. The "guide" was nice when speaking, but he was soooo far ahead of us, I had to wait until we slowed down *because of the area* to ask a question. While we went to visit the islands, the ONLY thing he said was that is Honeymoon island and that is Caladesi Island. We passed by so many homes, islands, and other interesting scenes, but I didn't know what I was looking at because I had to go fast to keep up with the guide and I couldn't ask questions. It also said "Destination stop at Honeymoon Island for shelling, swimming and free riding." We arrived on time, but had a delay getting started because of a personal emergency, so I'm not sure if that's why we didn't get to go shelling or swimming like it stated.
