Parked near Tractor Supply with a dead battery, it was a no-brainer to traverse the parking lots to Advanced Auto Parts for help. Jacob walked the distance to jump the battery so that I could move my car. Then he found my battery options and DID NOT try to pressure-sell the top-of-the-line battery. He set up my Advance Auto Parts account to finish the sale, and then he installed my new battery. He was thorough, efficient, knowledgeable, and kind. A stellar employee, Jacob knew exactly how to make replacing a 5-year-old battery a part of routine auto maintenance.

He stood in the heat helping me with the terminals that were corroded so bad. I dont live in Bradenton and had to drive it home without one new part that they didnt have anywhere close. He suggested we get it off Amazon. We did. I cant thank him enough for all he did for me in the heat. If you need help I would ask for him!! I happily return every two years for the free battery & wiper instillation service. Representative Jacob M. assisted in finding a new battery & showed me the warranties/prices. He was knowledgeable, efficient & friendly. He then escorted me to the windshield wiper section of the store. I informed him I needed something affordable, but profectient. Jacob helped me find a great pair of wipers. I then asked him to please teach me how to fastined my wipers onto my windshield which he gladly did. Jacob then removed my battery & quickly installed the new one. He even took an extra precaution by spraying a corrosive inhibitor on the terminals. I've had a worrisome week fretting over my stalling vehicle, but Jacob & Advanced Auto Parts helped easy my mind. Easiest thing I've faced all week. I'll definitely be back!

Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
