- DDDMar 16, 20261.0Customer support is a joke. Made an online purchase for wiper blades that THEIR website advised was correct with discount code %15. Wipers were incorrect so due to the fact that the nice young man already took them off we went to find the correct ones. $78 when I called to see if I can do a price adjustment for what was the online order (remember that’s what their website advised) I was told no but we can issue a $10 coupon. The principle of this entire situation is wrong. I would have NEVER of paid $78 for blades the fact that a price adjustment can’t be done is not right. Will never use advanced auto again HORRIBLE customer service, horrible advisement by their website and just all around bad experience with this company. Kudos to the young man who helped install them he was great, I hope he finds a place of employment that does right by customers cause this one doesn’t.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
