- JMJennifer MatykoJan 11, 20261.0I brought my 1983 Pontiac Trans Am here for a battery/alternator check. The hood had never had any issues prior to this visit and has been opened many times over the past two years at other shops, including Wrench Monkeys, CJ Transmission, Mavis, AutoZone, and Elite Auto, with no problems. During this visit, the employee told me to open the hood. It did not open fully, and instead of stopping, he forced it open. After that, the hood would no longer close properly. The latch is now bent and shifted on the passenger side. When I reported the damage, I was told it would need to be “investigated” to see if I was being truthful, and I was directed to call corporate on Monday. If you own a classic or older vehicle, be cautious. These cars require care and patience, and forcing components can cause damage.
