  I came to this valvoline for the first time and won’t be returning. All 4 spots were filled so I pulled into the first spot and then another car came in about 10 mins after me next to me and the men working had the 2nd car pull into the third spot as the third spot car was leaving. I thought it was pretty rude that someone that came in after me was serviced before me so I left.

  I have to say the team at Valvoline work great together and communicate well between each other. I pulled up and explain I needed a oil change and I don't know what else because I just got the truck from my Uncle he gave me. Cortize was great he checked everything for me, this guy went above and beyond for me, even showed me all my air filters how dirty they were. Mr. Cortize didn't even push anything on me, just asked would you like to replace your filters. When Mr.Cortize started adding everything up I needed it was almost $500 thanks to Mr.Cortize he even took time out to find coupons for me to cut the price down. Thank you team at Valvoline for being kind and professional to me. I will definitely be back soon for more service.

  Just here to warn the public about my experience at this shop on kirkwood highway. I pulled up and told the tech that I wanted an oil change on my fleet vehicle . While there the manager came over saying they are waiting for approval to do the oil change. I informed him no approval is needed for an oil change . He disagreed and said valvoline requires approval. When I looked at the screen next to him there the total exceeded 500. I asked the manager directly if they were my charges and he said no. After waiting another 20 minutes for approval it was realized that he was in fact trying to charge hundred of dollars on unnecessary extras some of which were denied because they were already done within the year. When I confronted the manager about not communicating any of the additional charges before trying to push them through. He stated he’ll take care of me. It’s obvious when you pull in what they are attempting to do . I imagine it won’t take long for people to realize the same when going here because it’s really obvious. I just wanted to warn everyone else of my experience. When I attempted to calm corporate the lady on the phone was really helpful but she was going to let the shop owner know and I might receive a call. It’s been hours since and no call so one can only assume that the owner is complicit.

  Highly recommend taking your car here, I’ve only ever gone to a dealership and I feel so taken care of. I feel a lot more confident in my car. Everyone was very kind and welcoming. Latrell and Gus were very kind and helpful. There’s always coupons and they give them out like candy && didn’t break the bank like most places. Thanks !!!

  The oil change itself was fast and done correctly, and the staff were professional and courteous throughout. I am not opposed to paying a premium for convenience, and at roughly $120 for an oil change I was expecting a higher end, low friction service experience. What detracted from the visit was the sheer volume and sequencing of upsell pitches. The experience followed a very scripted pattern, starting with oil selection framed as a Carfax recommendation, followed by air and cabin filter inspections, commentary on routine fluid levels, a fuel system treatment recommendation, and finally a radiator flush suggested in response to a low coolant level. Individually, none of these items were dishonest. To be fair, the air filter was not recommended for replacement. However, it was described as looking “pretty good” despite having only about five miles on it, which is the distance from my house to the shop. That kind of commentary may sound harmless, but for a customer who is less knowledgeable about cars, it easily creates a sense that something is marginal or approaching a problem when it is not. The cabin filter example was similar. A small amount of dust and some dandelion fluff were presented as a concern, along with commentary about “the air you breathe.” Again, not false, but framed in a way that implies urgency. Layer enough of these moments together and it becomes difficult for an average customer to separate routine observations from actual maintenance needs. The radiator flush recommendation was the real deal breaker for me. If coolant is genuinely low, topping it off should be part of a full service oil change, not a trigger for upselling a radiator flush. A flush is a far more invasive procedure and, on modern cooling systems, unnecessary flushes can sometimes cause more harm than good. Presenting that as the solution to a low coolant level crosses from helpful suggestion into questionable practice, particularly for customers who trust the shop’s guidance. I want to be clear that the technicians themselves were polite and the oil change was done properly. This review is not about competence or professionalism at the bay level. It is about the sales model layered on top of an already expensive service. If higher margins are needed, I would much rather see that reflected transparently in pricing than delivered through continuous sales pressure during what should be a straightforward visit. Dialing back the scripted upselling would significantly improve the experience and likely earn the fifth star. As it stands, it gets four stars for competent work paired with an unnecessarily heavy sales approach.
