    As a single woman, traveling alone at night- I expect more from a rental car company. I recently traveled to CT for work, and when I arrived at midnight the Alamo staff were all gone for the day. An enterprise staff member helped me get a car and get on my way. They weren't sure they were giving me the luxury suv I had paid for, but I accepted what they had to offer and got on my way. The enterprise staff were all great, and the male attendant even waited in the parking garage with me for the keys to the car I was renting to ensure my safety. Unfortunately, upon my departure is where the positive aspect of my experience quickly came to an end. It was midnight, cold and dark. I popped out of the rental car structure and was immediately on the highway, only to have alerts going off on the dash- I WAS TOTALLY OUT OF GAS!!! Thankfully I was staying in a close by hotel, and made it safely there. Upon checking into my room I promptly called Alamo. I didn't know if I would make it to the gas station in the morning, and it was the week of Thanksgiving in CT- it was COLD and I did not want to be stranded in the morning. The Alamo roadside assistance told me they would come fuel up the car- If I paid a roadside fee ($100-150 I believe?) AND paid for the gas. NOPE?! I am not the one that gave a woman traveling alone at night a car with no gas. WHY THE HECK would I have to pay that for their error???? UNACCEPTABLE. So, the next morning I set out to get gas. Thankfully, the station was close and I was able to freeze my hinny off getting gas in a car that should have been full in the first place. By this time, customer service was open- so I called Alamo again. I wish I took down the lady's name, but RUDE doesn't even begin to cover it. She essentially told me, ok yeah, so?? It should have been filled up and it wasn't, oh well. OH WELL?! OH WELLLL?! What if I was traveling a greater distance and ran out of gas? What if I stopped to get gas in the middle of the night and something happened to me? OH WELL? I told her this and said "Don't you think Alamo would be HEAVILY liable if something had happened to me because of their lack of diligence?!" All she could say is "well- that didn't happen though." She moved on to tell me to just return the car on E. Nice to know after I added gas!!! And- more than I needed or would use in my one day rental. SO- having rented cars before I knew that the attendant I dropped off with would ask how the rental was. Surely when that happens I can at least get my money back for the gas I just GIFTED?? Alamo... RIGHT?! WRONGGGG. I had an early flight out and guess what?! Just like when I picked up- Alamo didn't have any staff on duty. An enterprise employee got the car back from me and couldn't assist me. He was so kind and concerned... (I SHOULD RENT FROM THEM NEXT TIME!) and told me that I would get a survey to fill out... He said DEFINITELY do that and Alamo should assist me to better the experience from there.... WELL, HERE I AM. A month of following up with the one email I got from Leanna B. in regards to the survey I filled out regarding my issue.... AND STILL, NO reply, NO resolution, and I am just out of the money I spent getting gas for this car that was supposed to be full when I got it. I won't stop reaching out, reviewing and sharing my experience online until ALAMO responds to me and makes this situation right. They need to show us all that they take the safety of women traveling alone seriously!!!!!!

    I was supposed to travel with a family member but got sick and so she went alone. We booked the car through Costco with the Costco discount. When she got to the counter, the Alamo rep said that she doesn't get the discount because she wasn't using the Costco credit card at the counter. Thankfully, Costco took care of this for us, but I am writing this review so that the staff there can be properly informed about the discounts. I am going to assume it was just a mistake of not knowing how Costco works, so please let all of your staff know what Costco discounts look like. We would greatly appreciate it because we will be going to Hartford again. I am amending this because of the note that I received from Alamo after posting it. Obviously you didn't read what I wrote. The problem has been solved because Costco took care of it. We won't be contacting you because there's nothing for you to do and I posted this so that you would educate your staff and not put someone else through this. Thank you very much.
