Great buying experience purchasing a 2009 Acura TSX at BMW of Waterbury. This team moves $100,000 cars all day, but I got the same thoughtful care and attention purchasing a $10,000 used car as if I were buying an X7.
I worked with Noah, who was a great mix of personable and knowledgeable, professional and direct. He made the whole process easy and fun. Communication was always prompt and professional. There were lots of small instances of going to extra mile abounded: from offering to pick me up from an hour away so I could drive away with my car, to checking into the specific leather cleaner that the dealership uses (makes the car smell amazing!) Everyone else I worked with - Jason, who coordinated pickup, Courtney, who helped me get the car titled - was similarly great. Just so easy to get along with, always professional and never pushy.
I kept telling my friends, I feel like I'm getting the BMW dealership experience even without buying a BMW! I would definitely recommend purchasing a car here.

Guntaas was my main point of contact and was simply awesome. He guided me through every step of the journey, including selecting the right trim, choosing add-ons, and tracking the vehicle. He handled my requested last-minute changes before pickup without questions and ensured everything was perfect. He made what can be a stressful process feel effortless.
The management team is top-tier. Nicole worked with me to secure the best deal possible—truly the best I found in all of New England. Ashley was also instrumental in the process, providing a great price as well for my trade-in and even helping to improve the deal as we moved forward.
When it came time for the "boring" part, Kirk was fantastic—he was quick and efficient with the paperwork, getting me through the office in record time. Finally, Yamna gave me a great tutorial on the car’s features, ensuring I felt confident behind the wheel before I left the lot.

I hereby formally express my serious dissatisfaction and concern regarding the handling of my vehicle by the BMW dealership in Waterbury.
My vehicle was brought in due to an issue related to key coding. After performing a diagnostic scan, I was informed that I could leave and that the vehicle would be ready the following day.
As of today, 18 days have passed, and I am writing this statement from the same dealership after being required to wait over five hours, during which I was repeatedly told that my vehicle would be ready for pickup. Despite this, I am now being sent home without my vehicle and without any estimated completion date.
This situation represents a clear lack of transparency, unreasonable delay, and a failure to meet basic standards of customer service and professional responsibility. The prolonged retention of my vehicle without justification or communication has caused significant inconvenience and disruption.
At this point, I have no option but to wait and hope that the work is completed properly and that my vehicle is returned in acceptable condition, despite the absence of any clear timeline. I consider this conduct unacceptable and expect immediate resolution or formal explanation.

Exceptional Experience at Hoffman BMW of Waterbury
I had such an amazing experience at Hoffman BMW of Waterbury that I truly felt compelled to leave this review.
I was honestly just minding my business one day when, intuitively, I felt like it was time for a new car. I’m an independent life coach and the owner of a family home daycare here in Waterbury, so reliability is extremely important to me. I loved my 2015 Kia dearly, but it had started giving me issues, and I knew it was time for something dependable.
Almost out of nowhere, I had an epiphany — BMW. I decided to walk into Hoffman BMW on a random day, and from the moment I entered, I was met with warmth and welcoming energy. Chloe greeted me, introduced herself, and even booked my appointment on the spot while I waited. Her vibe was friendly and professional, and it immediately put me at ease.
I was then introduced to Dennis Smith, and I cannot say enough great things about him. Dennis has true old-school values when it comes to communication — he looks you directly in the eye, is clear, honest, and makes you feel confident throughout the entire process. He took the time to walk me through everything and even applied my husband’s military discount (spouses of veterans receive an incentive), which we truly appreciated.
I explained my credit situation to Dennis — good, but not exactly where I want it yet — and he reassured me that it was okay. I told him how much I loved the BMW X series, especially the 2025 X3. It was absolutely beautiful, but after doing the math, I knew I wanted to stay within a comfortable budget, especially since I planned to add a warranty. My goal was to land in Tier 1 or Tier 2 financing, and Dennis respected that completely.
That’s when Courtney stepped in and truly went above and beyond. She ran different scenarios for both a newer model and a certified pre-owned option. Dennis remained transparent the entire time, which made me feel very confident. I decided the certified pre-owned 2023 BMW was the smartest choice — low miles, gorgeous, and still very much a dream car.
The car wasn’t available to view that day, and Dennis never pressured me. He told me to come back the next day to see it and reassured me we could apply then. I also appreciated that they respected my boundaries regarding credit pulls.
The next day, I returned with my husband, toddler, and baby. Dennis instantly connected with my toddler — even jokingly calling himself “Pop-Pop” and inviting us to his pool in the summer. That personal, family-oriented touch meant everything to me. Dennis is retiring soon, and I truly hope to see him again just to thank him once more.
There was a moment of nervousness when financing came up, especially because I had to unlock my TransUnion due to an identity theft situation. Courtney calmly reassured me, asked me to trust her experience, and went to work. About an hour later, she came back, sat down, and said the words I’ll never forget:
“You’re approved. Congratulations.”
I was shocked, overwhelmed, and honestly emotional. We finalized paperwork, placed the vehicle in my business name with a personal guarantee, secured full-coverage insurance, and I drove off the lot with zero down in a beautiful BMW.
I split my time between Connecticut and Florida, and the team even guided me through registering the car appropriately. From start to finish, the experience was seamless, respectful, and empowering.
