- AVAmanda Velez3 days ago1.0I had a very disappointing experience at the wolcott st Advance Auto Parts due to the behavior of the store manager. The manager named Ken was extremely unprofessional and dismissive when I asked for help. Instead of trying to assist or answer questions, he acted annoyed and spoke in a rude tone and treated me like i didnt know what i was talking about. He came off as very sexist. Customer service should be a priority, especially from someone in a management position, but this manager set a poor example for the rest of the staff. The interaction made the environment feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. When customers come into a store looking for help with automotive issues, they should be treated with patience and respect. I hope Advance Auto Parts addresses this kind of behavior, because it reflects poorly on the store and the company as a whole. I would think twice before returning if this is the level of professionalism being shown by management.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
