I was greeted when I walked in, which I appreciate, but when I said I was ok and would ask if I needed help, the two staff took that as a que to ignore me so they could chatter among each other. By the time I could have used some help, I felt awkward interrupting them and so just bought one quick thing and left. I don’t think I’ll be back. As a business owner, I support local businesses whenever possible. I’m not super excited about supporting a business that offers mediocre service, at best, though.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
