- AMAllison MaynardMar 5, 20265.0Last night 3/4/2026 my husband needed to stop to grab break pads for his truck, he will only shop at Advanced Auto New London location... and now I know why. Last night my self and our daughter were with him and we all went in. The two Hispanic men (I'm bad with names but I remember one of the men was Mark and the other gentlemans name is at the tip of my tounge) that were working were AMAZING. They were both hard at work stocking the front and the back, they were so friendly, polite and super helpful. They had great positive attitudes and it made the whole experience for us wonderful, We even stuck around a few minutes longer to chat with them due to it. I truly dislike Auto stores but can now say those two men working last night, changed that for the better. They love what they do and it shows, those two are assets to the company and I hope the company knows that espeically Mark... Hence why I'm writing this review. Feel free to share it with them!

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
