We're not car people, so we tend to assume that what we're told the car needs is accurate and honest, but with no real sense that we know the difference. This past week, I took one of our cars in because it looked like one of the headlights was out. I told them to go ahead and replace both. They checked the light and found nothing wrong. Put everything back together and sent me off without a charge.

I was dripping oil twice. I ended up replacing the washer with the correct gasket. this could have been catastrophic. Like blow a motor. For the price I paid to get an oil change you would think they would have gotten it right the second time after I told them not to. I'll stick with doing my own oil change. At least I care.

- IHIan HammersleyNov 24, 20251.0This is a sorry excuse for a car service shop. As we all know they are money hungry and will try to sell $16 parts for $60 but that is not the issue here. This specific Guilford location gave me HORRIBLE service. To start off I had went in for an oil change and also got my transmission serviced. The techs did not secure my skid plate back on my car and left it completely hanging off which I then noticed the next morning on the highway and immediately went back to the location. What could this billion dollar corporations fix be? Zip ties. That is right Valvoline unprofessionally secured my skid plate back on with zip ties. The manager of this location also came out to tell me it was not their fault and that it just happens, but this has never happened to any car of mine or anyone I know and I have had cars over 200k miles. BUT IT DOES NOT STOP THERE!!! This location also with no warning of damage put the wrong transmission fluid in my car. This is causing the car to stutter when shifting gears and I have been informed I need to get a drain and fill of the proper fluid. I paid $200 for them to mess with my transmission and $80 for them to not put my car’s undercarriage back together as they obviously should know to do. I will NEVER be returning to valvoline as they have monro right next door who do a better job for the same prices or even cheaper, THEY WILL EVEN ROTATE YOUR TIRES FOR FREE. STAY AWAY FROM VALVOLINE!!!
