How old do I have to be to get my driver's license in Connecticut?

Our Full Driver Education Bundle classroom portion usually takes 8 weeks to complete, but a student can complete it sooner. The 8 Hour Safe Driving Course usually takes 2 weeks.
Do you need a learner's permit to start classes at The Next Street?
You do not need a learner's permit to begin the classroom portion, but it is required for any in car driving lessons.
What do I need to bring to my driving lesson?
Students must have their physical plastic learner’s permit with them for every Driving Lesson. No photocopies allowed.
Open toed and open heeled shoes (even crocs) are not permitted- please wear appropriate footwear, we recommend sneakers.
Make sure you have your corrective lenses (contacts or glasses) if indicated on your permit.
Please note: Students that arrive without these items will not be able to drive and will be subject to our $175 no show fee.
For the safety of our customers and employees, training, and quality assurance purposes, all Behind The Wheel lessons and Road Tests conducted in The Next Street Vehicles may be video and audio recorded. These recordings are retained in accordance with public records laws.
