  We took our car in because the check‑engine light came on, and the engine code suggested trying an oil change. When we arrived, they immediately began insisting the engine had been rebuilt, calling the car a lemon, and claiming there were leaks everywhere. They then started filling the engine with oil far beyond the recommended 4.2 quarts—reaching nearly 9 quarts on a small Hyundai. We had to stop them because they kept saying the dipstick was dry. We asked them to verify the correct dipstick length, but they couldn’t find the information; we located it with a simple Google search. They caused a huge amount of unnecessary stress by making it seem like the engine was ruined, when the real issue was simply that the wrong dipstick had been used. The car is now completely fine—replacing the dipstick was all it needed and the check engine light went away. We also confirmed with the dealership that the engine is factory‑original and has never been replaced, despite the mechanic at Grease Monkey insisting it had been because he “has rebuilt engines for years.”

  Friendly: yes Add items not reviewed and charged for: yes $20 additive (since my coupon was $20 that made it ok? Told me this is the typical price: $50 for a filter that is $19 online $30 for a filter that is $8.00 online Honesty is most important and that did not happen!

  Do not go here. The management and higher (corporate) do not care about their quality of work and discount your obvious issues. We went in October for an oil change, the tech suggested we do an engine flush as well, given we hadn’t done one, we thought what harm could it do? It would just be even better for the car right? Well, something went completely wrong. 8 days later, after only driving it twice, our car started smoking. Turns out it was a complete turbo failure - a $7500 price tag. I file a claim with Grease Monkey and the response I get is the store manager walking into the repair shop we had the car at off the bat saying “yeah, we’re probably not covering this”, the regional manager and store manager taking WEEKS to call me back with no updates, and their corporate number being a trash voicemail that no one calls you back for either. Once the repair shop we got it to started doing the repair they said the oil looks like complete crap. (We didn’t even tell them about what happened before the turbo game) Odd… only driving it twice after an oil change and engine flush, the oil is crap? There’s no reason it should be looking like that if it was done properly and to quality. If you’re wondering why I’m posting this now it’s because we hadn’t been able to start the repair until now. $7500 is not something anyone can come up with right away.
