Tried to start the car this morning; couldn’t jump it from cables, but got it started from our our Craftsmen portable power station. These folks checked out our electrical system, with absolutely no delay or sales pressure (they made it clear they didn’t need to sell us anything and we just needed to drive it awhile to charge it up.). We bought some new wiper blades for the ride back. These folks were wonderful!

He said the order number I have didn’t work and wasn’t willing to help problem solve and just told me they couldn’t do it. He was too lazy to look up the actual order number and put in the work to help me. Advanced auto is great. This guy sucks.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
