  Recently I had some work done on my Buick Enclave which involved replacing the rear shocks. When the work was completed there was a definite knock/rattle when driving down the road. When I went back to the facility they put on some new shock mounts. While the knock/rattle was better it was still there. I returned it to the facility and after a test ride they ended up putting on OEM shocks which solved the problem. They did not charge me the difference between OEM and the aftermarket shocks they had put on initially. I did not receive any hassle while this process was going on and they worked with me until the problem was resolved. Thank you Brakes Plus - Monument.

  I had a very positive experience with the service advisor, Nolan Sherman and also with the manager, Kevin. I had brake and rotor replacement performed, and I’ve been pleased with the results. The personnel at this Monument location were responsive and kept me well informed.

  Spoke with someone over the phone and helped me setup a last second visit. They were super fast over the phone and got our car in and out even faster. If we weren't just traveling through I would recommend my family to start coming here! Thank you for the friendly service!

  First time taking my car to brakes plus. I went in for an oil change only. After picking it up, many issues started rising from the second I left their parking lot. That night I had to get to Lafayette for an urgent family matter. The following day (Friday 2/20) my car was completely dead. I made all the phone calls I was supposed to make and Nolan from monument brakes plus told me he was sending a tow truck to where I was staying and communicated with the nearest brakes plus location in Lafayette (which was in superior, four miles from me) the situation at hand. Nolan stated the tow was covered and any work the Superior store or any parts replaced is covered by them too. Long story short, they did not cover the tow truck nor any parts that needed replacement. This review is not towards the Superior location but directed ONLY at the monument Brakes Plus location. At the monument location, Edgar helped me with checking in for my appointment and checked me out at the end. Connor was the ignorant mechanic working on my car. And Nolan was the employee arranging the tow truck, communicating with the superior store and the person who said this was covered then later called back and said JUST KIDDING. Can I prove Connor is a lousy and incompetent mechanic? No. Do I believe given the phone calls from Connor during his time working on my car and the list of issues that began the SECOND I got my car back were from his doing? ABSOLUTELY I also believe Edgar has zero customer communication skills given the lack of information he gave me when I first came to drop off my car. And the lack of information on the ending results of my car when I came to pick it up Nolan was very helpful and patient when it came to me complaining over the phone. I think Nolan did the best he could with taking on Connor’s mess My car had never had the problems it later did before bringing it to brakes plus. What a damn freakin coincidence!!! If you care about your car, you will go ANYWHERE else for any services or do them yourself. I am begging those who see this review, do not let this store work on your car. I will be posting a more detailed story too. I will be contacting Brakes Plus Headquarters and I will be filing a report with the consumer protection center. If there was a way to actually prove all this, I would be suing this location and specifically Connor for everything in a heartbeat. I have read other comments from prior customers and while the majority are good, someone left a review that was not good and stated this location is a scam. I could not agree more with that statement. Very much a scam. A negative five star review is what they deserve.

  I stopped by this location yesterday (2/9/26) because my front brakes on my 13-year-old Tacoma had suddenly starting making grinding and "wah-ha wah-ha wah-ha" (metal rubbing on metal as the front wheels rotated) noises. I asked if they could get me in the next morning (today, 2/10/26), and they readily accommodated me and set up an appointment on the spot. Long story short: I brought the truck in today, and they did an amazing job diagnosing the problem as well as [correctly] pointing out a few neglected maintenance items (fluid flushes, etc.) I was 20K or so miles overdue on. They offered me a-la-carte estimates on everything and skipped over the usual high-pressure sales tactics in favor of authenticity and what I'd characterize as the "local Monument vibe" which I greatly appreciated. In the end, I had them do everything they recommended and couldn't be happier. My truck drives like new, and my kids are no longer asking me, "Dad, are you sure it's safe to drive with that noise?" Special shout-out to Connor who was amazing to deal with today. But also a "side shout-out" to Kevin and Edgar (I think his name was?) who are also fantastic people and offered great customer service as well. Summary: Top-notch, local, "no B.S." service that delivers on quality and value.
