- YYYokoMay 19, 20255.02 weeks ago, I walked in to have a battery tested on my convertible that sat in the garage for the winter. Rachel helped me out, and it turned out I needed the battery replaced. Instead of buying the battery, taking it home to replace, and bringing back the core, Rachel changed it out while I was there, at no extra cost. It was amazing, Rachel was great! Fast forward to this past Saturday. My truck was having issues starting at 7:30 am, so I took it To Advanced Auto to see if Rachel could take a look. Although Rachel was there, Mark was the first to me and aske how he could help. Although I wanted Rachel to help based on my last experience, Mark assisted and came out to test my battery and alternator. The diagnosis was the same and I needed to replace this battery now. Mark was friendly and walked me through the different types of batteries until I picked one out, then proceeded to change my battery out. While he did that, he told me his story of how he likes working there even though he has decades of experience as an auto-mechanic. It seemed like he likes his job. I was so pumped to get friendly and personalized service. I know they're not the same at all of the Advanced Auto Parts, but the one on 17th st in Longmont is good people that I'd highly recommend. P.S. They had Skynyrd playing when I arrived too... Jammin'!

Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.
What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
