My car broke down mid shift at work when I was by the store and I needed a part that wasn't in stock at this location. My boy Don personally went to another store and got me that part on a moments notice and lent me the tools I needed to fix it on the spot. What a legend. 🔥 Give that man a raise.

Rude and unhelpful — won’t be back!
I stopped by Advanced Auto Parts at 10078 W Progress Ave in Littleton looking for help installing wiper blades and headlight bulbs, and the staff couldn’t have been more dismissive. They were rude, uninterested, and flat-out refused to help, even though the store wasn’t busy at all — so there was no excuse.
Thankfully, I went over to O’Reilly Auto Parts at 8966 W Bowles Ave Ste A, and the difference was night and day. The crew there was polite, responsive, and genuinely helpful — they took care of everything with a smile. They ended up getting over a $100 sale that Advanced Auto missed out on just because their team couldn’t be bothered to provide basic customer service.
Save yourself the frustration — go to O’Reilly instead.

had a code pop up in my car on my way to working and they car would not stay running. being the closest to my work and the fairly good review i went to this location to get the part. they didn’t have it in stock so they ordered it from another store and i was told about 12 for pick up. i work across the street so i could walk over and get it since my car would stay alive. to find out they messed up the delivery 2 times and it would be there 6 hours later. now have to walk to and from to fix the car and wait at work after im off. go literally anywhere else. poor customer service and can’t be relied on when you need it

I came to this Advance Auto Parts store with a tricky battery problem in my 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan. I was very skeptical because I knew that replacing the battery in this car requires a special electronic "battery registration" or "coding," a service that most auto parts stores don't offer.
I was incredibly impressed by the service I received from David. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. When I asked him the specific technical questions about the coding process like entering the battery's capacity, type (AGM), and manufacturer into the car's computer he knew exactly what I was talking about and answered with complete confidence. He confirmed they had the right equipment and that this crucial step was part of their installation service.
David did an amazing job, handled the installation and the coding perfectly, and was a pleasure to work with. It is so rare to find this level of expertise and genuine customer care at a retail store.
I highly recommend this specific Littleton location, and if you have a modern European car with a complex issue, you can trust David to get the job done right. He truly provided 5-star service. Thank you!

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?
Expand FAQ item
Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
