- KMKelly MillerMar 23, 20261.0I went to advanced autoparts in green mountain on alameda parkway. I have shopped here for years without any issues. I will not be back and 1 star is being generous. I went in to purchase a cabin air filter for my jeep and was given a regular air filter. Once I realized that I was sold the incorrect part I attempted to exchange it. Unfortunately the manager, Alex refused because the sales person not only sold me the wrong part, he sold me a clearance item which they say they cannot return. Alex refused to give me the name and number of a higher manager and was extremely rude!
- JDJosh DuffyMar 18, 20265.0Kevin is the man!!! I launched my old windshield wiper blade over my neighbors fence on a snowy morning and headed straight to Advance Auto Parts to get some new blades. I couldn’t read the directions apparently, but Kevin helped me get me on the road with a clear windshield in no time. I was fighting for my life out there in the parking lot with cold hands wishing for a YouTube video to save me when Kevin came to the rescue. Highly recommend this place, I’ve been going there for years.

The company’s computer system was having issues which prevented access to enter information. After several visits to the store, the computer system was still having issues. Kevin, store manager manually entered the information and was finally able to replace my blades. Thank you Kevin for the work around .

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
