Terrible experience with Good Sam Roadside Assistance. I called them at 1 AM on the highway with a flat tire, and they never showed up, never followed up, and never called back. I was completely stranded with zero communication or support. Extremely unreliable service — I would not recommend Good Sam to anyone.

Good Sam roadside as a service was great for me. I have multiple cars. I’ve used their service a little under 10 times in less than a year. I purchased my plan February 2025 I called for service October 2025 and was rudely told by customer service that my plan was canceled, mind you I have the highest plan you could purchase the one over $200 with unlimited tows Included, good Sam told me over the phone that they canceled my service back in July due to excessive use and that they sent me an email. I never got an email. I never got a letter and that is simply false advertisement to sell me a package over $200 stating I have unlimited tows for the year up to 100 miles then cancel my service mid year five months into me purchasing the service for a reasoning of excessive use. the word “unlimited” towing should not be used in the advertisement of any of these packages if you’re going to cancel customer services without letting them know. I would give zero stars if I could the worst experience I’ve ever had with any roadside. canceling without any notification mind you they had my name wrong in the system. I tried to correct her on that they had my member number wrong in the system. I tried to correct Them on that and was yelled at “ma’am” seven times before I just hung up disgusting. ! I work customer service as well, so I have all the patients in the world. The lady couldn’t get a supervisor or answer any of my questions so she got frustrated and yelled ma’am at me. Denver co is Where I live so yes I need RSA at all times. Will do business else where that has zero relation to terrible AAA AS WELL.

I am very disappointed with my experience with Good Sam Road Assistance and would not recommend them to anybody. I experienced a flat tire on my truck outside of Banff on 9/14/25 and call their number. I received an automated message which told me to call back in 1/2 hour. I was stranded on the Trans Canada highway and vehicles were racing by me. I decided to call a private company who came out and fix my tire within 45 minutes. I submitted a claims to Good Sam and was rejected because they said I never called them. I did called them and was told to call back in 1/2. I then call customer service and they told me they was have someone call me back in 48 hours to talk about my experience. They never called me back. The overall experience was terrible and I will not renew my membership with them.

Good Sam Platinum Complete plan. I’m sorry about the length of this review, but you’ll get a clear idea of the service I received. After being a loyal customer for the better part of 15–20 years, we’ve finally decided it’s time to part ways (when our contract is over). Over all those years, we’ve only had to use our towing insurance a handful of times. The first two times we called for help, the service was excellent — no complaints at all. However, over the last decade or so, things have gone steadily downhill. We’ve had to call for emergency towing about three times, and each experience was more frustrating than the last. First incident: I was stuck in a parking lot — not in a parking space, but blocking about 3–4 other vehicles — after the truck’s steering went out. I had two young children with me and called for assistance. It was a Friday, and the dispatcher told me no one could tow a truck that size until Monday. I explained that I was blocking other vehicles and needed help right away. She still said she couldn’t send anyone. When I asked to speak with a manager to better explain the situation, she suddenly “found someone” who could come after all. Most recent experience: After an accident my car ended up in a shallow ditch off the road. I called to make sure it could be towed out safely. At first, I was told there was no issue — but when I called back to schedule (you always get a different dispatcher), I was informed they don’t recover vehicles off the road and that I should call my car insurance instead (which doesn’t cover towing because we already have Good Sam). Every time I called back for clarification, I got a different answer from a different person. In the end, I had to arrange the whole thing myself — completely defeating the purpose of having Good Sam towing coverage. Today’s experience was the final straw. Our pickup wouldn’t start, and it wasn’t a battery issue. We requested a tow to our home, just 5.6 miles away. The dispatcher said they could only tow it to the nearest repair facility and that we’d have to pay out-of-pocket for any extra miles. After checking, I discovered that the “nearest” shop she picked wasn’t even open — it was Sunday, and she hadn’t bothered to confirm. When I called back to ask how that location was chosen (just look on a map without consideration if they could work on our truck or had space for us ) another dispatcher told me that since the shop was closed, they’d tow to the next open shop — which she claimed was even closer, meaning we’d have to pay more money out of pocket. That didn’t make sense, so I asked for the name and checked the distance myself. It was actually 8.5 miles away — farther than the house! Only after pointing that out did she agree and transfer me to a manager, who was kind and helpful. He said he’d have to file forms to reimburse us for any extra charge. My takeaway: There’s an obvious lack of consistency between dispatchers, and the overall quality of service has dropped dramatically. It often feels like the goal is to find ways not to provide help or to tack on extra charges whenever possible. After 15–20 years of loyalty, it’s incredibly disappointing to see how things have changed. We’re tired of the runaround and the inconsistencies .

Had 3 flats at once on my class C. Apparently recalled tires only a year old. Good Sam left me stranded for 6 hours. Unable to get tires replaced on side of road and no towing available. Ended up putting spare on side with 2 blown tires and limped to tire shop.
