  This gas station ran out of gas. Has to be poorly managed for that to happen.

  TL:DR - From Welcoming to Disgusting — We Will Never Return. My wife and I have made a point to stop at this place every time we pass through Dove Creek. The first time we came through, we had a lovely conversation with a kind woman at the counter about how much we appreciate small towns and how her daughter lives up where we are from. It was warm, welcoming, and genuine — and that moment stuck with us. But what we experienced on June 3rd, 2025 at 9:45 AM has completely changed everything. I recently underwent serious spinal surgery and am still in the process of recovering. I needed to stop so I could clean my wound, which is essential to prevent infection, and to use the bathroom. We pulled into the lot planning to use the restroom, grab food and drinks for the road, and support the business like always. But from the second we walked in, we were met with cold, judgmental stares. The woman working the counter just glared at us. I went to the restroom while my wife stayed up front — and that’s when she overheard the most disgusting conversation happening between the cashier and some people loitering at the tables. They were mocking me behind my back, saying things like: “Truckers just take their time and are inconsiderate of others… they’ll probably smear poop all over the walls.” Excuse me? Not only is that an appalling thing to say about ANYONE, but to overhear that while I’m in the restroom recovering from major surgery is beyond offensive. When I came out, my wife was visibly shaken and just wanted to leave. But since we know the restrooms are "for paying customers only," we grabbed some drinks — mostly out of obligation — and got out of there. Even during checkout, the employee doubled down on the rudeness. She ignored my questions, gave me dirty looks, and made it clear we weren’t welcome. Meanwhile, the same people sitting at the tables talking trash hadn’t bought a thing — just hanging out and fueling the toxic vibe. What once felt like a small-town treasure now feels like a bitter, mean-spirited place that clearly doesn’t care about human decency, let alone customer service. We will never stop here again. And I truly hope anyone considering this place thinks twice before walking in. If you don’t fit their narrow idea of who belongs there, you’re just a target for mockery. Shame on the staff working that morning and whoever lets that culture fester.

  With the change in ownership we have the happy experience of a chef that brings a real flair to the kitchen. Never know what will be coming from them. The breakfast burritos are huge, I cut mine into thirds and enjoy for 3 days.
