Unresponsive, rude, and negligent. I’ve had an extremely frustrating and costly experience with Rickenbaugh Volvo, and I would strongly caution others before doing business here.
For over two years, my vehicle title for a 2023 Volvo XC90 has been mishandled, resulting in serious financial consequences. After purchasing my Volvo XC90 at Rickenbaugh Volvo, I was informed in early 2024 that my title was never received by the bank. In May 2024, I was explicitly told that the title issue had been resolved by a Rickenbaugh representative. I trusted them. I found out last Monday it was never resolved - they didn’t do anything. Due to this incorrect lienholder error caused by the dealership and negligence in correcting the error after they said it had been done, I’ve paid thousands of dollars in excess loan interest because my rate jumped for not receiving the correct title. This has also led to account restrictions, I can’t access my accounts and ongoing financial harm that continues to worsen daily.
Despite multiple attempts to resolve this, there has been zero communication, no written plan, no timeline, and no accountability. I have called requesting status updates. My calls to the controller, title clerk, and sales manager all go unreturned. When I spoke to the sales manager in person last week after making a three hour drive to sign a Power of Attorney to get this resolved as quickly as possible, I asked why my calls were never returned, I was told “someone else is dealing with it” and that he “wasn’t even here when the mistake was made.” That response perfectly sums up the experience—no ownership, no urgency, and no concern for the customer.
I was forced to make that three-hour trip to the dealership after being promised Power of Attorney documents would be emailed right away so that they could be taken to the DMV the following day - that never happened. This lack of follow-through has only compounded an already serious issue.
I’ve been told by multiple staff that this is a known and recurring problem within this dealership, which raises major concerns about their internal processes.
I have very respectfully emailed the general manager twice with no response. At this point, I’ve had no choice but to prepare formal regulatory complaints.
I have maintained loyalty to this dealership, had all of my service work done here and referred multiple clients to be treated like this in return.
If you value clear communication, accountability, and basic competence, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

After 14 years as a loyal customer, I am writing to express my extreme disappointment regarding my recent service experience, which has led me to the decision to no longer use your service department.
When dropping off my vehicle, I was first informed of a $230 minimum diagnostic fee. I was subsequently quoted $4,150 for two major repairs, plus an additional $150 for a cabin filter. I explicitly declined these services and picked up my car. However, the written estimate I received upon pickup included the cabin filter I had denied and omitted one of the major repairs I was quoted. Despite my clarification that I did not authorize the work, I was charged $351 for the diagnostic fee and the filter.
Furthermore, I sought a second opinion from an independent Volvo specialist. They informed me that blower motor repairs are uncommon for a vehicle with my mileage and suggested the issue might simply be debris. They inspected my vehicle and confirmed that both the blower motor and coolant pump are in perfect working order. Additionally, the independent shop replaced my rear brake pads for $250, significantly less than the $432 quoted by Rickenbaugh.
I have never experienced such poor service or unexpected charges at your dealership. Whether this is an issue with the specific service representative or a shift in company policy, I find it unacceptable. I will not be returning to Rickenbaugh Volvo and wanted to share this feedback so that other customers might avoid a similar experience.
