I went in yesterday for an oil change. As I said in my Yelp review, I understand that these places upsell. But the guy facilitating this portion of the job was obnoxious. The car needs a bunch of things done to it -- I was planning on going to get an oil change and then take the car to my normal Hybrid mechanic for a lot of the other things. He outlined all the problems - and I thanked him warmly and said I was taking this to my normal mechanic. His pushy attitude now turned to obvious disdain. He kept putting the picture of my air filter in front of me and looking at me like I had passed wind. "Yes, I see it. Thanks. I have a bunch of things I need done and my mechanic is going to look at it. They are specifically hybrid only - so I go to them for all these things." He pointed out my windshield wipers - which I had literally just ordered two days previously. "Yes, I have those coming in as well. Probably already on my doorstep." He was obviously annoyed. I asked if I should pay now, he says No, and walks away. I go back to looking in my phone or something. 5 minutes later he comes back in the room, and is standing at his computer, looks back at me from the computer and across the room says, "You DID see those windshield wipers, right?" Jesus, dude. Give it a rest. "Yes," I said. "I know. They are falling apart. They are crumbling. Yes, I know. I just got back from a trip and I saw them and as I said previously, I ordered them.." So, now I am asked to come and pay, and he is overtly hostile. Previously, when I was outside talking to the guy who took my car in (and is the only reason I am giving any stars, as he was very polite and nice) -- he asked all the questions, and at the end said, "$98." I said, "Oh! I have a coupon..." He didn't respond, but kept inputting stuff. Then he asked me to follow him - and I went into the room. The reason it is relevant is because Hostile Annoying Condescending Dude tells me my bill is $98. I say, "I have a coupon." He says, again, overtly hostile: "Ya, $98." I tell him the guy outside said it was $98 before I said anything about a coupon. He says "It would have been $128, but now it's $98. So I applied the coupon." Ok, dude. You are rude, AND you are a liar. I don't appreciate going in to get services done and being treated like I walked in with dog crap on my shoe. And as I said in my Yelp review -- if you were mad you couldn't upsell me on anything, I wonder how you feel to know that not only will I never step foot in this JL again, I will not step foot in any Jiffy Lube again. AND you got two crappy reviews out of me. Yay for you! Peace out.
