I continously get over charged when the representatives say I will not be charged. And then I call and report maintenance and they never file it so I get charged. Then I call again and they say they never said they will fix it. This place completely a mess. Then when customer service does call and leave their number, they never answer. Crazy work

Please hear me out: DO NOT get INTOXALOCK for your DUI driving requirement. CARTOYS is the contracted business that improperly installed the device that caused my 4Runner to shut off while I was driving . I had to pay to get it serviced and “repaired while being charged for the lockouts obtained due to the device constantly syncing while driving. I have a push start and highly recommend that you research the company SMART START for cars newer than 2017 in the Colorado area. Calling the “customer service “ line is the most frustrating and unfruitful task. Nothing about calling is enjoyable or bareable. This is due to the agents being in another country and having no English speaking skills. THEY ARE ALL RUDE and refuse to help you. I was sent to 2 service centers that only calibrate your device and had no information that helped . I have been towed all over summit county on my dime only to be sent back to Denver for another install. I had to replace another battery with the understanding I would be reimbursed for it after inspection and reinstall. However after being improperly charged for a “missed” test and other “fees”, the 378 reimbursement was applied to my intox account. They then charged me for the service in Denver and next weeks bills which brought my credit to 60 dollars. This is the second time they have robbed me. So implore you to not get this device - I’m still trying to figure out how to get it taken out . .

0 stars if you have intox don’t get services here. The tech lead Alex dosent know what he is doing and makes decisions that are not in the best interest of the customer. Hes lazy driven my personal feelings which is not good for any business. Hes lazy driven refused to do a repair on the intox because he believed the burn out of the car switch was not the issue he believed it was a fuel pump. 1 Hes not a mechanic to give mechanic opinions. Really just came off as lazy and talks bad about Intoxalock telling people to just get it taken off because they hate working on them.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.

What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
