Do not get this pos thing in your car. Go with another brand. Intoxalock will kill your battery every 3 to 4 months, even less if it's colder than colorado. I've gone through 3 batteries in less than 8 months and this company doesn't do anything about it besides tow you and you STILL have to pay for that also. If you decide to drink and drive and got busted, don't let this company get you back on the road or help you get your license back. The blower will blow false positives and or just fail you for having a window washer fluid bottle inside your car. It costs 75$ to have the lockout reset and will give you a lockout even while washing your car. You blow in it and it says start car, then you park and it will give you a lockout. They say it's the device that is faulty, but after having it happen multiple times and to multiple people, it's just how this state and the device work together. I blew into this pos and it said start car, then did a retest and the bac continued to go up from .024 to .028 and ended up failing me while driving to work at 6am. I started driving at 520am, wasn't drinking the night before and then had to pay 75 for the lockout. You call these morons and an Indian picks up the phone and you can barely understand them and they run you around saying they can't do anything. Ask for a manager and they try to fight you about it. I would NOT, I repeat, I WOULD NOT go through intoxalock for your iid. Go to anyone else and it will be less hassle and cheaper. These damn people STILL run their devices off 1980 computer cords, they don't care about you and just want your money.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
