Mike was very helpful in helping find a location as well as directing me to breathe easy for assistance with SR22 insurance.

This place is awful. It’s the only place close to me and now I have to drive an hour to go somewhere else. The shop has a horrible reputation around town for price gouging people - it happened with me when I got a quote for some work. But as far as the interlock goes, if you have a job, unless you want to take off work, you can’t get in there. The ENTIRE staff leaves from 12 to 1:00 for lunch, so you can’t go on a lunch break. Apparently there is only one person in the entire shop who is competent to put the device on the machine for a few minutes. And, they are open until 5:00 but will not serve you if you show up later than 4 o’clock. I had to beg them, in tears, to help me at 4:05 and they almost refused me - And told me, that, even though they’re open till five, they won’t do recalibrations after 4 o’clock. I would think a service center would be a little more accommodating. And of course, they aren’t open on the weekends so unless you take off work, you can’t get your device serviced. They are also very rude - One time I was there at 1 o’clock, right when every single staff member got back from lunch. I still had to wait until 1:15 for anyone to even look at it. I was there for over 30 minutes. Then, I got back to work late and got written up. Don’t go there - go anywhere else you can! I changed my review from 1 to 5. This is NOT a reflection of Auto Masters but Intoxalock made sure I was taken care of and followed up. Isaias from intoxalock actually helped me and I didn’t have to wait on hold for hours. Thank you. Except, we went back down to a 2. When I went to the new service center and to get my calibration, my device was shut off and “no longer in service.” I was also still charged the calibration fee that was supposedly waived, and was there for over an hour. The service center even had a 27 minute wait time. We had to sit on hold and then activate an entirely new device. Ridiculous. Back to zero stars if possible. Mid way through a road trip in Utah, my car wouldn’t re-start. Not a lock- out but a device malfunction. I am a female and was stranded on the side of the road 50 miles from the nearest town. I had stopped to pull over to look at a feature on the side of the road and then tried to restart. After passing, turn the key and nada - device reads “wait to restart” with a 3 min countdown. This happened over and over again. Then, I call and I am on hold - mind you, still stranded on the side of the road. I’m on hold for at least 30 minutes and the “person” I spoke to told me that I could get a tow 15-30 miles and to keep the receipt. I explained to this person that would not work, I am 50 miles from the nearest town and hours from my service center. Then I asked to speak with a supervisor. She said yes, it was a malfunction of the blower. We did a few things and somehow got it working and I could get home. There were a few more issues after that but issues seemed to resolve themselves. This was 5/17. Then today, 5/30, I am on my way out of town to see my son - 4 hour drive. On the way out of town, I stopped to get my blower calibrated. Well, my car is still at the dealership. After being calibrated, the car would not start. My vacation was cancelled, I won’t get to see my son graduate, all because Intoxalock devices suck. Also, despite the fact that I got it calibrated there, there was no technician available that could look at it or fix it. Now, I’ve been stuck multiple times in dangerous situations because the device malfunctioned. I live in a rural area and was just lucky that I had a friend who was close to where my car was at the dealership. If she would not have been there, I would’ve had to take an Uber for an hour to get back home. My battery is fine. These are not lockouts, these are purely device malfunctions. Use any other company! I have heard they are all Bad and meant to inconvenience you. The devices are mechanically flawed and every mechanic I’ve spoken to who has to work on cars with them agrees.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150.
