About two weeks ago I took my 2000 Corvette Safelite Auto Glass in Castle Rock. This was my second experience with Safelite. I thought I would give them a second chance after some issues on the first visit. My mistake. The technician had no idea how to take out my windshield and he bent up the frame around the window. (There is a video on You Tube...) There are gaps along the top of the glass and the cars window trim and connection to the convertible mechanism is ruined. They said they would fix it and be in contact with me about parts, but knowing the year and this car, they were not going to find them. So I found my own replacement parts through a Corvette shop and hand delivered the estimate. The customer service representatives scolded me for supplying them with that information. It's basically the only place they will find the convertible connection parts for this car / windshield, But they won't call them to order the parts. After my 4th call to customer care, I was just told by an agent that they think they are going to be charging my insurance company for this repair. Are you kidding me???? W I will never go back and we'll tell everyone I know that values their nice care to avoid Safelite.

I scheduled with them to replace my windshield at my home address on my day off. Everything was good until the morning of when I received notification that the tech had called out. I was ok with that, it happens. I rescheduled for the following Monday between 12 and 5. I confirmed the appointment when they sent notification. The day before I got instructions as to how to be ready. Today...tic tock, tic tock. No notification of approximate time of arrival. At 4:00 after some frustrating calls without speaking to a human, I was told that there was no record of my appointment. WHAT? I had, for two weeks, made all plans around this and still didn't have a new windshield! Since you can't call the shop, I drove there. The manager was awful. Told me a tech had been hurt on Friday(not sure if I believe that) and I should have been called. Well dude...I WASN'T. He offered that I could come into the shop to have it done. If I wanted to do that I would have schedule it that way to begin with! Then we can reschedule for next week. Seriously? Again? I asked about a discount at this point. He said he'd throw in wipers. Really? Dude, do you know anything...I was already getting complimentary wipers!!! And I walked out...zero caring or customer service! I sent a text to their Corporate office. I will amend\update this if they make this right. Not holding my breath.

They came out to my home 4 separate times and each time had some excuse as to why they had to reschedule ( glass they brought was broken, seal wasn’t working, calibration wasn’t working, etc). Finally we had to take the car into the shop and they refunded my original payment without telling me, asked me for a new card “just to have on file” as “part of the process”, and sent me home without a receipt - they said everything was taken care of. So at this point I just assumed everything was done and the original payment method was the same. I gave them my debit card to keep on file since they said it wouldn’t be charged. Only to find out they charged me over $900 again! I have been trying to get in touch with a manager or district manager for a week and they will only send vague excuses through the warranty department to relay to me. No one wants to take responsibility or reverse the charge back to the original payment method. This has been such a nightmare and I will never recommend Safelite to anyone.

This process could not have been easier, I contacted Safelite directly as opposed to my insurance company, and it was flawless. The technician was prompt, a master of his craft, in and out without rushing. Efficiency from start to finish, I could not be happier, please recognize him for his outstanding effort and skill. It’s guys like this who keep companies going forever.
