We went to the store and he tested it to determine whether we indeed had an alternator or starter issue. Nope. He gave us instructions and tools we needed to clean the terminals. Even came back out of the store to inspect the work my husband was doing and pointed out where it could be improved. Excellent experience.

What I did not know at the time is that this refrigerant contains sealant, and now every mechanic refuses to service my car's AC because sealant gunks it up and ruins things. Advance Auto Parts seriously screwed me over.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
