  Kelso was super helpful. Oil pan was destroyed another shop quoted me $1500+ and they tried to get more repairs out of me. I took it here Kelso told me it was just my oil payed and saved me on the price. I’ll will be recommending to everyone I know.

  Took my 1955 Tbird built and restored by my grandfather to have rods replaced and get it running after it was parked for three years. I should’ve know the shop was incapable when they called me and asked me to order replacement rods because “they’re too difficult to find and they’d have a hard time locating them in town”. I did a simple EBay search and quickly found the rods, ordered them and took them to the shop for install. After they installed the rods, I received a call from Gerald stating the motor “had no compression, would be extremely difficult to remove unless also being pulled with the transmission (I know this to be untrue as I installed the motor with my grandfather) , and stating a number of “issues he saw in his opinion”. All in all, he thought I’d need to invest 25k to get the vehicle in good condition. Also stated he didn’t have someone in house to do the motor work. Clearly indicating it’s more so an inability than a real issue. I KNOW that an experienced mechanic will get this motor to turn. Protech is clearly capable of doing work if you want an easy install EFI or a newer upgrade, but they’re not the experienced classic auto shop you’re looking for if you have a real vintage auto.
