I tried to buy cigarettes using my Colorado Digital ID, which I’ve used here many times before without a problem. The employee refused my ID, telling me that the store had a new policy against accepting digital IDs. When I came back with my physical ID, I watched them check out another customer using a digital ID with no issue. When I asked about it, the employee admitted the “policy” was just something he heard by word of mouth, not actual store policy. This is completely unacceptable. Employees should not be making up policies based on rumors. Customers deserve consistency and accurate information, not confusion and wasted time. Clearly, this employee was not properly trained, and it reflects poorly on the store. Passing off rumors as part of store policy really shows lack of care and professionalism.
