- TNThien NguyenDec 9, 20252.0I placed an order online for pickup. Arrived at the store only to stand at the counter for a good 5 mins before anyone shows up. The lady behind the counter was just utmost rude with no acknowledgement. Furthermore instead of grabbing my order, she proceeds to make small take with another employee for a good 5 mins or so. Afterwards, she throws my parts on the counter and just walks away. By far the worst advance auto parts I've been to. If you are looking for any sort of customer service here, don't expect it.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
