They are attempting to charge me for pre-existing damage and that appears to be a common occurrence at this location based on online reviews. Do not rent from this location unless you take a meticulous video of the entire car before leaving the lot. The car provided was 3 years old with high mileage, worn-out windshield wipers and had at least 8 locations of pre-existing damage. This was a vehicle condition that most other agencies would have sold off by now. The counter staff were actually really nice, so I had hopes of a good experience. After returning the car, I received a claim for new damage for conditions that were pre-existing. Because I had read numerous online reviews mentioning this specific issue at this location, I was prepared. I had time-stamped video proof showing the damage was present at the time of pickup. If this happens to you, since this seems to be a pattern at this location, do what I did: use your video evidence to file a formal complaint with the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer & Business Affairs. Rent elsewhere, or video everything wrong with the car. This location cannot be trusted.
