    I'm a first time car owner and was hopeful that Nissan of Torrance would be a good place to buy from given their generally positive reviews. Unfortunately, they sold me a 2016 Toyota Prius for $17k. After only 4 months of owning it, the brakes stopped working while I was driving. It was terrifying. I blasted the horn to alert other cars around me that I couldn't stop at lights or stop signs and praying that pedestrians wouldn't step into the road. I've never been more afraid for my life or others. I had it towed and was told the brake boosters had stopped working and that I would owe $3,300 for the repair. I respectfully requested that Nissan of Torrance help with the bill since they sold me the car only months before. After two months of trying to get a hold of someone to answer my question and of having my emails and phone calls dodged, I was told that they "don't think" they're responsible. Liliana was very pushy in getting me to agree to pay for a warranty that ended up not even covering any of the costs of the brakes. Miguel (finance) and Jesus (general manager) haven't offered any support and have stopped returning my calls and emails. Unfortunately, I've now had to pay $3,000 (on top of the $17k I paid them for the car) for the worst experience of my life since both this dealership and Toyota deny responsibility. I was hoping they would offer to help out but now I have to move forward with filing claims with the DMV Investigations Unit, the AG's Consumer Protections Unit, the Bureau of Automotive Repair, and the California Consumer Legal Remedies Act to try to get some help and this last resort of leaving a review to protect potential future customers. EDIT: I can't respond to Nissan's response they posted under this so I'm updating here. My dad was not with me, my dad doesn't even live in California so you've confused me with someone else. Whether or not the issues were visible at the time of sale, the fact is that you've sold me a car that could've killed me and others. When confronted with that fact your employees avoided my calls and emails and could have at the very least offered to help pay for some percentage of the repair if you truly valued your customers. Because nobody is willing to take accountability I am out $20,000.

    I had the most amazing experience with Liz Reyes the Customer Relations Manager at Nissan of Torrance. I had a few concerns after purchasing my vehicle and she assisted me and made sure they were addressed promptly and resolved, all while having such a great attitude. She went above and beyond in assisting me in setting up my account with the financial institution as well which she didn’t have to do but took her time out of her busy schedule to do so. Weeks later I called her again for assistance and once again was willing to help and always with a smile on her face. She by far has been the most helpful at this dealership and can tell she takes her role serious. Thank you once again for turning my experience into a positive one. Highly recommend!
