Two days later, her car malfunctioned and it was towed to a valvoline in salinas. She was called the next day by this valvoline and was told that it was all good and ready to go. We went to pick it up and it indeed was NOT ready to drive. The coolant was leaking and so we had to have it towed AGAIN to a nearby mechanic where they did $1700 of repairs to fix it. I would definitely be careful coming to this place…

First of all, when I started to pull out my car jumped and they said they didn’t put the oil cap on right. How do you not put an oil cap on right, even I can do that. Second of all, within 2 days after I went there, my engine died. They said it was leaking coolant. I ended up needing to get a new Thermostat Housing Assembly and Water Temperature Sensor. I just got a new Thermostat a year prior, my mechanic said that it shouldn’t have broke and agrees they must’ve done something wrong. Unfortunately, there’s no way of proving the cause of it breaking and I was quoted $1700 for Valvoline’s mistake. The Soquel location also confirmed when I left their shop there were zero signs of it being broken or looking like it was about to break. Also, after being made to tow it to a nearby Valvoline after my car engine died to have them inspect it (which they told me there they aren’t real mechanics), I got a call from the Valvoline in Soquel that it was running fine and I could pick it up. I drove 40 minute to get my car and the Salinas location said they didn’t know why they told me that because my car wasn’t even drivable. Learn from my mistakes, bite the bullet and take your car to a real mechanic. Even if it’s $100 more it’s worth it, they ended up costing me $1400 (the mechanic gave me a discount because they felt bad for me).
