  Absolutely Unacceptable Customer Service at Penske Simi Valley I don’t usually leave reviews, but our experience at the Penske location in Simi Valley was so frustrating and disappointing that I feel obligated to warn others. From the moment we arrived to return our rental truck, we were met with confusion, disorganization, and one of the rudest employees I’ve ever dealt with in customer service. The woman who attempted to “help” us was incredibly disrespectful from the start. She gave us vague, unclear instructions about where and how to park the truck. When we tried to follow her directions to the best of our ability, she came outside repeatedly with an attitude, telling us “clearly we’re having a miscommunication” — as if it was somehow our fault for not understanding her unhelpful and dismissive directions. It is a very small parking lot to park one of their vehicles the way she was asking for. Instead of calmly assisting us or explaining what she wanted in a clear, respectful manner, she chose to speak to us with visible irritation and a condescending tone. It felt like she was more interested in being right and rude than being helpful. Once she realized that we were frustrated, she herself got flustered and stormed off and told us to leave the key in the mailbox. We expected at least basic professionalism, especially after a long move across the country with a 26ft truck towing a trailer and return. Instead, we were met with hostility, unprofessionalism and a complete lack of customer service. If you’re considering renting or returning with this location — I strongly recommend going elsewhere. There are plenty of other Penske branches in nearby areas that actually value and respect their customers. I hope management seriously re-evaluates the personnel they have representing their business because this experience was unacceptable.

  Outrageous fuel charge after I returned the truck! I drove only 14 miles total, very simple job locally for me, and they charged me to fill up 8 gallons of gas! What? The needle didn’t even move from when I picked up to bringing it back! The tank was a little less than full when I got it and the employee with me heard this and still noted it as full on their paperwork. They clearly have no problem smiling while working with you only to rip you off once you’re gone. I’ve been there to rent before and this latest time was so much different. New staff, perhaps. Either way, this was the last rental I get with this location.

  They must be going out of business. Call the local number - get the message - puts you thru 5 levels of questions and your zip and it routes you right back to the same local number. Huh? Nobody gets on the phone. I guess they don't like money. Bye.
