The team of people who assisted us were incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful throughout the entire process.   This used to be a great place to buy a car, but it no longer feels like the trustworthy, family-owned dealership it once was. Be especially careful in the closing room. During paperwork, the finance “closer” tried to have me sign documents charging me Los Angeles sales tax, which is higher than Ventura County, even though my address is clearly in Ventura County. I pointed this out repeatedly—where I vote, the schools I attended, and the fact that my address has been the same since the house was built. His response was that “the ZIP code” is how it populates in his system, so that’s what he had to use. This would have been the third car my family bought from First Honda in the last 20 years. It won’t happen now. The closer advised me to “just sign” and then dispute the tax later to get a rebate check. Anyone who has dealt with tax issues knows it’s not that simple—you’d be trying to recover the full amount from Los Angeles and then ensure Ventura receives the correct sales tax. Buyer beware: the closer is not your friend, and this experience came across as either incompetence or a complete unwillingness to think critically and fix an obvious error. We will not be purchasing from them again.

  Overall, a very positive experience. The appointment process was very easy with flexible scheduling. When I arrived at the dealership, check-in was very fast and easy. I arrived early for my appointment and my service adviser, John, was already helping another customer. Ryan was available and took care of us right away. The work was completed efficiently and my vehicle was available when promised. Every step of the process was explained along the way. The staff kept in touch with me and provided updates throughout the day. So far, no issues with the work done. I'm impressed with the helpfulness, attentiveness, and professionalism of the staff. This was my first time visiting this location but definitely won't be my last! Thank you!!
