- TTTheeSav7Dec 25, 20251.0I am very upset. Up until today, no matter what gas station I went to, when prepaying inside for gas with a credit/debit card, whatever isn't used automatically goes back on the card. I was in the area, so I stopped here for gas. The Google pay wasn't working at the pump so I went inside. Payed 60, only pumped 50. My receipt didn't print, I went inside for it and the cashier asked me. 'Would you like your change in cash or back on the card'. I was so confused, I payed with a credit card too. I asked 'doesn't it automatically go back on the card?' She said 'No, I can give you cash back. Or you can tap your card again to get a refund'. That is insane. This means if I didn't go inside for my receipt she could've cashed out my change and kept it? I wonder how many people they've done this to? This should not be allowed.
