Our experience was very very good! Honestly from check in/pickup the service was great. And on top of all of that, the rate was the best we could find by at least $200 for our week. Then, when we dropped off, the gentleman who met us out there, VERY early in the morning was super courteous and professional. He made sure we got checked in and had everything out of the vehicle. Then gave us directions of exactly where to go for where we needed at the airport. Honestly, they might have ruined us for all other rental car companies. 😂

Rent a car at SNA airport from SIXT first time this afternoon, had a great experience, I forgot the guy’s name worked at counter, he is very professional, nice and warm character, we are very happy afterwards, they have all kinds of good cars. We will go back to SIXT for sure.

"Avoid Sixt: Discovered a 'Hidden' Damage Scam"
I wish I had checked Yelp before renting with Sixt. This was my first and last time with this company. They have a practice of blaming customers for pre-existing damage and sending hefty repair bills after the fact.
During pickup, I pointed out a large dent and several scratches. The inspector seemed helpful and took photos, leading me to believe everything was documented. However, upon return, they "discovered" one of the scratches and claimed I caused it. When I checked the pickup inspection sheet, it turned out the inspector had failed to record that specific spot.
My advice: Stay away from Sixt. If you have no choice, take your own high-resolution photos of every single inch of the car at pickup. Zoom in on everything. Don't trust their inspectors to do their job correctly.
This was my first and last time using SIXT. I had an awful experience at John Wayne (SNA) Airport.
At pickup, I took photos of the vehicle from every angle thankfully. When I returned the car, the employee, Richard T., immediately pointed out a scratch. I told him the damage was already there at pickup and that I had photo proof. The photos clearly show the date and time, confirming the scratch existed before I ever drove the car.
Despite this, he still documented the damage against me at drop-off. Now I’m forced to deal with unnecessary follow-ups over something that was not my responsibility.
This situation could have been avoided if the damage had been properly documented in the first place. Be extremely careful if you rent from SIXT—take photos and videos of everything so you don’t end up in the same situation.

DO NOT RECOMMEND this company for long term rentals aka subscription service. Constantly needing to exchange the vehicle I get, and for a large, multinational corporation, their customer service is an absolute joke. Multiple times I've: 1) been transferred to the department I'm looking for, only to be told I need to be transferred again, to some other department; 2) been told I'm being transferred then hung up on; 3) been told I need to make separate phone calls to separate departments and it's all the same number. Really, really disappointed with this subscription service and Sixt customer service.
