Rented my car for 8 days. I had an issue on day 6 of my trip and National was accommodating. My car battery died. They sent a tow truck to pick up the car. They sent me an Uber free of charge to pick me up. I picked up my next vehicle at an Enterprise with no issue. When I dropped off my rental I told Medhat what happened and he credited me the rental day I lost getting my car situation fixed. National goes above and beyond when it comes to customer needs. They are quick to problem solve. I recommend them to everyone. They are fast, efficient and friendly. I will continue being a loyal National customer.

The two stars are more for the company than the location. An hour and a half after I dropped off the car I realized I had forgotten something and filled out a lost item form. I have heard nothing since I tried calling but can't get through to any one. It's my fault that I forgot something but I feel like I was quick to fill out the form. I knew exactly where I left it. It should not have been that hard to look for it or to follow up with me. It was something that belonged to my dad who had passed away a few months ago.

I’m an Emerald Executive Elite member and had a very disappointing experience returning my car at this National location (SNA).
After an 8-hour drive back from Las Vegas, I pulled into return expecting a quick Emerald checkout. The car wouldn’t scan in the system, and the first agent I spoke with (Greg) told me they would follow up by email, confirmed my total, and said I was free to go. As I was leaving, Greg stopped me and asked I wait for the manager. When the manager arrived (who was not wearing a badge and did not provide a name), they stopped me and insisted I wait while they tried to fix the scanning issue.
I clearly explained that I’d been driving all day and just wanted to get home, but instead of acknowledging that or honoring what I’d already been told, this manager spoke to me in a way that felt dismissive and condescending and required me to stay. At the end, even telling me I could go ahead and just leave and when I asked for the total, responded “I thought you wanted to leave.” A system problem turned into a stressful, drawn-out interaction for the customer, with no sense of urgency, empathy, or even basic identification from the person in charge.
Emerald / Executive Elite is supposed to provide a fast, frictionless return experience. I hope this location improves communication between staff and management, enforces clear identification for supervisors, and handles system glitches with more consideration for the customer next time.
