    Make sure there's an attendant at your gate. My husband had to literally chase down someone to get out of your garage when the barcode for his parking wasn't scanning. According to security, this is a continuous problem! So if you get stuck in this garage, good luck.

    We were heading to Alcatraz for the beat and needed a place to park. When looking for a place to park, there were three things I was looking for. 1. Safety. We were worried about break ins. We were on a road trip so had a car full of luggage and valuables. We obviously couldn’t take everything with us to Alcatraz. 2. We have a Ford Expedition so needed a space our large vehicle would fit. 3. Location. Didn’t want to drag the kids a billion miles walking all over the city. After much researching, we decided on the Pier 39 garage. It was perfect. We reserved online ahead of time, which brought the price down. We reserved from 10a-5p on a Saturday. We got there right at 10 am and had no problem finding a spot to fit our vehicle. The spaces were narrow so we thought we might have a hard time getting back into our car once people parked around us. But the others parked centered in their spaces so it was no problem. There were security cameras and employees around, which made us feel better about safety. We did take all our valuables with us, but left our suitcases full of things. We got back to our vehicle around 4:45. At this point the parking garage was PACKED. So many cars coming in to park. We saw at least 5 parking lot attendants walking around and 2 more directing traffic. All that to say, it met all our requirements. It was safe, it fit our large vehicle, and was located right at Pier 39 so we were able to check out the pier and grab food before our trip to Alcatraz. Pier 39 was about a 6 minute walk to Pier 33 (where we grabbed our boat to Alcatraz).

    Use spothero to save ALOT of money on parking. Dont pay at the parking lot, use spothero!!! The parking lot was kinda condensed but it was still a good place to park
