  Staff are great but the company has made it impossible if anything goes wrong. I wasted countless hours trying to get in contact with someone at the office because a family member accidentally left their disability placard in the glove compartment. Still no luck.

  Alamo is now my go-to car rental company. After many bad experiences with long slow lines at checkout counters, I rent from Alamo and "Skip the Counter." It's a little more work up front, putting in all your information, but it's a huge relief when I land, jet lagged and eager to get to my destination.

  I've been using Alamo about every 2 months for the last 8-10 months and the customer service at the check in desk and through text and live chat online has declined with no actual resolution to my issue with the check in agent removing all the protections that were included on my booking confirmation. The first 2 times I booked with Alamo and checked in, I had no issues. My entire experience was great. The 3rd time, the check in agent was going to remove my protections that were on my booking confirmation, but it was resolved after speaking with their supervisor, and providing proof of residency in Japan. This most recent trip, the check in agent was unwilling to speak with a supervisor, nor even give me the option to add back on the protections with him. The agents' responses through text and live chat were also unhelpful. Live chat told my husband that the protections were still showing, but text agent confirmed that the check in agent removed them. I wasted time I could have been enjoying my leave, trying to ask for updates for resolution to get the extra coverage for my peace of mind the entire 7 days I was here. The text agents would never give me a clear answer, and eventually never responded all together. I tried calling twice during open hours, and was sent to voice-mail. It was very frustrating and stressful to deal with. I still would like to receive a clear answer. Pro: Everything else. The car selection, the individuals that help select our rental, and the ones at car return are great as always. Shout out to Tim for helping me out a second time!

  Not the best experience I’ve had at a rental car company. I originally payed more for a truck and got talked into switching to a suv to guarantee AWD. The truck was more expensive than the suv but somehow I had to pay $15/day more to switch to the SUV. Make it make sense. Besides getting hustled for the extra charge, everything was decent.

  The good- Picking up and dropping off car was quick and easy. Good price. Car was a hybrid with excellent MPG. The bad- The car had a broken part on the dash which had been previously taped in place that would fall off by the drivers feet getting in the car. Potentially unsafe! I reported the issue as we were leaving the pick up location and was offered a different car, but chose to leave the part in the back seat to just get going. The other issue was that the key that folded into the fob frequently got stuck in the fob despite pushing the button on the fob, so you could not insert it into the ignition. Had to either push the button 30+ times or work to dislodge the key. Eventually just left it always unfolded.
