  Wow! I was nervous to rent a long term car but Alamo made it so painless and affordable. Candi and Rami helped us pick up and drop off the car and they made the whole process so nice! The guys at the front desk were so chill and welcoming too. They were all genuinely kind and helpful and it was so good to have warm hospitality in a new place ☺️ i got a reasonable insurance for San Francisco and a great deal for choosing long term. I’ve heard so many horror stories about rental car companies but now I know to always use Alamo ! Thank you so much!

  Service rapide et efficace. On choisit soi-même sa voiture dans le parking, dans la catégorie qu'on a réservé. J'avais réservé une catégorie 4x4 de taille petite / moyenne (Nissan Rogue / XTrail). J'ai eu le choix sur place entre un Jeep Compass, un Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, et un Mazda CX50. J'ai pris le Mazda qui me paraissait le plus moderne. Il avait seulement 5000 miles au compteur et était bien équipé (toit ouvrant, etc). Dommage que c'était le moteur de base non-hybride, un peu mou. Je pensais qu'en Californie il y aurait davantage de choix parmi des modèles hybrides type Toyota. Leur prix était compétitif et comme on ne prépaye pas, on peut annuler en 3 clics si on voit que le prix a baissé.

  I had an unpleasant experience picking up the rental car at SFO airport. I had reserved a full size car. The process at the counter was predictable and smooth and I was asked to go to the aisle where the Alamo cars were and that someone would assist me. Maria met me at the aisle and asked for my papers, noted I needed a full size car and pointed me to the only black car in that aisle, saying “that black car is for you”. I walked up to it and was aghast to see the car she pointed out was a Nissan Sentra. I had to walk back to her and object to this being a full size car, at which she smirked and then pointed me an old Altima. I resent the fact she tried to take advantage of a customer’s trust in getting what they reserved and being unapologetically smug about it.

  Although the vehicle had uneven tire wear probably due to a mid aligned front end which created occasional steering issues, it served our purpose. Between that issue and the fact that we had to buy snow cables in Colfax ,California to continue to Reno in blizzard conditions, I was none too happy when I returned the vehicle. To Alamo’s credit, the manager on duty as well as the attendant at SFO rental center were more than understanding and accommodating in resolving my issues ( complaints). I suggest that perhaps it would be a good idea to offer the option of taking snow cables along to renters traveling through the Sierra Nevada mountain range just in case they may be needed. Others may not be as fortunate as I was to be able to find the proper size cables( chains or socks) . A fee could be added onto the price of the rental and partially returned if not used on the trip. My vehicle, if properly inspected before being available to rent, should have had at least one tire changed and an alignment performed. I should not have to do such an inspection before taking the vehicle.

  Do not rent a car here from Alamo. They will treat cheat you. Number one my flight was delayed I called ahead to make sure that they would still be open as we'd get in at 1:00 A.m.. they assured me that someone would be here for me since I didn't have to stop at the counter I just can go through and get a car. I arrived and was told point blank that I can't get a car until 6:00 a.m. when they open back up. On top of thatOn top of that. In the morning to charge me for not arriving in my pickup window even though I had called ahead of time it because apparently they canceled my reservation because I didn't show up the night before even though I called ahead of time. Then is are incredibly pushy about their insurance which I do not need because I have my own insurance. Then on top of all that they try to charge me extra for dents that were in the car before I got it. And yes I have pictures when I picked it up to prove it. The worst experience I have ever had and I travel several times a month. Will not rent a car here again.
