  This was a new car rental company that I was unfamiliar with. I chose them because their prices were very reasonable. They did not disappoint me- really great rental experience with a brand new vehicle. The entire rental experience was flawless.

  Very disappointing experience. I prepaid for a specific vehicle, but when I arrived at the rental counter, the car was not available. Instead, I was told I could only rent a much more expensive vehicle, and additional charges applied because I am not a local driver, which was not clearly disclosed during booking. As a result, I was unable to receive the service I paid for and had to arrange alternative transportation while traveling with my young child and elderly parents. This was very stressful and unprofessional. I would not recommend this rental company.

  It was pretty smooth picking up and dropping off the vehicle. My only complaint is I selected my vehicle for horsepower purposes for driving the interstates in the San Diego, LA system and the vehicle I was given had a delay when stepping on the gas. That hesitation can be dangerous in the driving conditions I was in. I adjusted my driving but if I had the vehicle I believed I was renting I wouldn't have had too.

  Serious Ethical Issues —— I would not recommend using this rental company they are trying to charge me for damage to the car I rented. They are claiming I damaged the rim. Even their own photo shows no damage or it is so small it could be consider a dirt spot on the rim - photo attached. This is a serious ethical issue with this company if this is their standard practice.

  Stay away from Sixt! I am a heavy rental car user, but rarely book Six, because there is frequently an issue and customer service is uncompromisingly bad. They never make it easy. And even if there is restitution, it is so hard and difficult that you still don't feel good about the company. They tempt you with good rates and fancy cars, but beware if you have a problem, you are stuck. After a year, I was tempted again to select Sixt for a full week's. booking, but then had to make a change a week ahead of time and the price doubled. I canceled, but are now stuck with $100 cancellation fee that they won't give in on. I booked through national car and got the same rate as the original Sixt fitting my schedule. I am writing this review to remind myself never to book with Sixt again.
