  This was my first time going to Valvoline and it was a great experience. I had no wait time and all of the staff were helpful, friendly and professional. The tech gave me all the information on services and options available, as well as his recommendations, but did not try to hard sell me on anything. The manager of the center introduced himself and thanked me for coming before I left - from start to finish this was the best oil change experience I have had and I plan to be back. I highly recommend the team at this center at 3464 Midway in Point Loma!

  The service was insanely fast, great customer service from the moment I drove into the station and to when I left. I loved how the technician even walked over to my window and showed me my dipstick to ensure I had the right level and new oil. Would definitely come back.

  I had the good fortune of having my stolen car found. On retrieving it, the check engine light was on, I found several bottles of oil in the trunk, some empty, some full. After a trip to AutoZone and using their OBD scanner, I found codes that could possibly be resolved by an oil change. Valvoline was my next stop. Because the car has 257,000 miles on it, and out of habit, I selected a full synthetic oil change. It has served me well in the past, and with the coupon I found for 30% off a full synthetic oil change,it was now the same price as a conventional oil change. In addition, I agreed to replacing a dead headlight, topping off coolant, and changing both cabin and engine air filters. When I was paying the tab on completion, the technician told me it appeared there was a small oil leak. He said it did not seem to be leaking at the time, it looked to be old, pretty much dry, but he wanted me to know. I paid out and set up an appointment with Pep Boys for the following afternoon. The technician I worked with at Pep Boys told me that the oil leak is big. She said I would need to take it to a dealership for repair, as it was more involved than any technician at Pep Boys was willing to attempt to resolve. I asked if the leak was old, mostly dry, or currently active and oil was dripping. The tech told me anyone changing the oil would see it. When I got home from Pep Boys, I looked where I park the car, and what did I see? A pretty significant amount of oil. It was new. I checked my oil, it was showing to almost touch the full line on the dipstick. In considering whether to return to Valvoline, I have decided I will check the oil today and tomorrow. If the level goes down a lot, I will go back and ask about their opinion. It will gain me nothing but confirmation, as they did what they were paid for. Based on what I know now, Valvoline has lost my business, and I will tell anyone who asks about my experience. Voting with my wallet is a small opportunity, but if enough people speak their piece and vote with their wallet, maybe Valvoline will educate their technicians to more accurately describe what they see.
